MENTAL WELL-BEING: An aspect of life often given a back seat

Mental health is just like physical health but is often neglected until in extreme cases. It comprises three components that are interrelated, first is the thought, the second is behavior and the third is emotions. The way we think or behave, effect our mental health.Mental health is not just the absence of mental disorders but is rather about being psychologically, emotionally  ans socially healthy and a state of overall well-being. Mental well-being is how people cope with stressful situations and know their abilities and work fruitfully. People's feelings and thoughts and to learn to cope with the negative thoughts and feelings.

       It can be influenced by some of the factors such as:

  • Good relationships and engaging in different positive relationships.
  • Managing to cope with stress.
  • Good and proper sleep.
  • Taking out time for the activities one love
  • Engaging in exercise and any other type of physical activity.
  • Eating nutritious food.
  • Be confident about one's own body.
  • Set proper goals and dividing them into subgoals and completing them accordingly.
  • Reach out for help when needed.
